At the September meeting Lion Mike Oddo was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship.  The award was presented by 27-C2 District Governor Bob Moen.  For many years Mike has diligently served as Chairman of the Brat Wagon, one of our major fundraisers.  He has also served as club President, been an important member of the Brewfest committee handling all the permits and publicity, and as a Director of the club.  Congratulations Mike and thank you for your continuing service to the club.

Unfotunately due to illness, District 27-C2 Governor Bob Moen and his partner in service Joan Moen were unable to attend the International Convention held in Australia the end of July, 2010.  At the September meeting of the club, members surprised Bob and Joan with a "Down Under" theme for the night.  When they arrived in the meeting room Australian music was playing, the Australian flag and pictures of the country were hung on the wall.  The meal for the evening was a buffet and the various dishes were renamed in harmony with the theme, such as Roast of Roo (prime rib), Kiwi Tenders (chicken) and Barrier Reef Great White Shark (cod)!  Hopefully, Bob and Joan enjoyed their brief taste of Australia.

At the March Regular meeting Lion Dan Miller was awarded a Birch-Sturm Fellowship for his 22 years of service to the Lac du Flambeau Lions Club.  He has served the club in many different capacities; Club President twice, many years as Chairman of the Brat Wagon, work on Totem Poles, great raffle ticket seller with many first place sales.  Whatever Dan has been asked to do he has done well.  Congratulations Dan and thank you for your years of service!
