PROJECTS

Our projects are usually determined by the results of periodic needs assessment exercises carried out in the community. Quite a sizeable number of them are in the area of youth welfare and development. They include:

1. Upgrade of infrastructure such as desks, chairs, painting of classrooms, equipping libraries, replacement of windows etc for schools in the community. Improvement of the classroom environment aids learning considerably.

2. .Provision of water systems to enhance WASH (Hygiene & Sanitation) in schools.

3. Regular eye screening exercises, education on eye health and provision of prescription lens for school age children and commercial vehicle operators in the community. The children do better in class as a result while the roads are made a little safer and lives are saved because the drivers can see better.

4. Periodic feeding of the poor and vulnerable. There is a large number in Obalende and we provide healthy quantities of uncooked meals which they can stretch depending on the individual or family. Once in a while we also provide cooked meals for the day.

5. Provision of scholarship funds (primary school) for one or two children at the Arrows of God, our adopted orphanage outside the Obalende/Southwest Ikoyi community.

6. Upgrade of infrastructure at Arrows of God such as dining area and power and also regular donation of beverages and toiletries.

7. We intend to upgrade our screening for diabetes in 2017/2018 Lions year.

8. We hope to introduce our character-building LIONS QUEST programme to schools in the community due to abberant behaviour exhibited by students of some secondary schools in the community.
