Here Are the Many Ways LOW Lions Club “Serves”

Orange County Schools STEM Bus

The LOW Lions donated $10,000 to Orange County Public Schools for the STEM bus project, a mobile laboratory for teaching science, technology, engineering and math. In addition, the LOW Lions committed to a matching grant whereby they will match funds donated by other organizations for the installation of solar panels to be used in powering the STEM bus laboratory as well as providing an additional learning tool for students.


Sight Conservation Programs

  • Eye exams and glasses for the needy – Eye glass recycling center
  • Sight and Hearing Mobile Screening Unit - RAM
  • Screening Head Start, Kindergarten, 3rd & 7th graders in Orange County
  • Sight and Hearing Mobile Screening Unit

Hearing Programs

  • Exams and hearing aids for the needy
  • Hearing education for 4th graders in Orange County

Food Pantry

  • Lions & Lioness Clubs serve needy families at the Wilderness Food Pantry on Rt. 20

Medical Equipment

  • Club loans hospital beds, wheel chairs, etc., to area residents

Youth Programs

  • Scholarships for Orange County High School & Germanna Community College students.
  • Sponsors LEO Clubs at Locust Grove Middle School and Orange County High School.
  • Orange County Teacher Grants for special projects in the schools

Community Service Programs

  • Emergency financial assistance for needy area families
  • Assists American Red Cross Blood Donor Drives
  • Supports LOW Fire & Rescue, Hospice
  • Hosts AARP SMART DRIVER classes

Disaster Relief

  • Financial support for Lions of Virginia Foundation, & Lions Clubs International Foundation for disaster relief, research & humanitarian programs.
