The LV Centennial Hills Lions Club was officially chartered on May 6, 2010.  Our formal chartering will be held on July 10, 2010 at the Los Prados Clubhouse on Jones.  The following community service projects are already on our agenda or under discussion for implementation:

EYEGLASS COLLECTION & RECYCLING - Eyeglass collection boxes are currently placed in multiple locations in the Centennial Hills area, as well as at all Costco stores. Eyeglass recycling (which includes counting, sorting, cleaning and cataloging) is generally held the last Saturday morning of the month at the Blind Center of Southern NV. FLAG DAY - JUNE - Presentation of individual US flags to 5th graders in local elementary schools along with a discussion of the meaning and care of the American flag in conjunction with Memorial Day.

LIONS CAMP DAT-SO-LA-LEE  - June - in the Ruby Mountains above Elko, NV . . . sending a youngster to camp who would not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in a camp experience.

BACK to SCHOOL Knapsacks - for children in need in the Centennial Hills area.

FLAG DAY - OCTOBER - Presentation of Nevada flags to 4th graders in local elementary schools in conjunction with Nevada Day on Oct. 31.

LIONS INTERNATIONAL PEACE POSTER CONTEST - Each fall, encourage participation of Centennial Hills middle school children to participate in this annual contest with the winner participating in Lions Day at the United Nations in New York.

LIONS District 46 Student Speaker Contest  -  For Centennial Hills high school students who may win over $5,000 in scholarship money from the club to the district (state) level.

LIONS SIGHTFIRST Foundation of Southern Nevada - support this foundation which provides eye screenings, glasses and surgeries to Clark County children and seniors who otherwise could not afford such care.

FUNDRAISERS - in the community to support such projects as noted above in our young Centennial Hills community!
