The Lindsay East and District Lions Club came to be when 5 like minded people who were Lions in another club decided they wanted to do more for their community and set about talking with their friends, neighbours an even former Lions who were wanting to also help their community. The town of Lindsay has grown over the last 64 years since the Lindsay Lions was chartered so what better way the help our fellow club than by establishing another club which will benefit the needs of a growing community.

We held our information meeting at Pizza Hut in Lindsay and our Global Membership Chair came out to help us and that night we were able to sign-up 13 members and at our next meeting we had signed up our 20th member. Lion Brian set about filing our papers with Lions Clubs International and on March 30th 2017 we were officially Chartered. We have since signed up 2 more members. Our Charter night took place on May 27th 2017.

We have already completed our first project with helping the Kawartha Lakes Food Source with their annual Easter Food Drive by maning the barrels at Loblaws in Lindsay on April 7th 2017. Since then we have been involved with hosting a booth at the Classics on Kent held in July featuring face painting, and a duck pond, helped host a booth at the media launch for Kawartha Palooza Art Festival in August. As well we have helped the Uxbridge Lions  and the Omeeme Lions with their projects and the Kawartha Food Source with another food drive in September and hosted our first dog walk on September 17th 2017.
