Meetings

The Littleport Lions are always planning their next project or event.  Check out the latest news page for some the projects we have been involved in over the past couple of years.

Current Projects:

We are collecting used glasses and hearing aids for third world countries and homeless charities in the UK. They can be left at; Wades, Boots and Specsavers in Ely,  Loach & Wade in Littleport & Soham.

We regularly donate money to local community causes.

We run a very successful Breakfast With Santa every year in December, which has been running for over 30 years.

Lockdown Lions:

Despite the challenge of lockdown, the Lions still found ways to give back to the community.

Littleport Lions held a reindeer drive (same as a beatle drive) and converted the 300 points gained in the game into cash, and then donated £300 to the East Anglian Children's Hospice in Milton near Cambridge to help them with the work that they do with children with life threatening illnesses.

Even in these strange times we have gained a new member, and we would like to welcome anybody who would like to help the local community and join a friendly group to fundraise for anyone not as fortunate as ourselves.

Other things we do:

We are always busy with a variety of projects in the community including:

  • Lions World Sight Day,
  • Ely Potato Festival,
  • Ely Litter Pick,
  • Message in A Bottle,
  • Decorating a pensioner's kitchen,
  • Makeover of a garden for a boy with autism,
  • The Grange Party & Entertainment,
  • Marie Curie street collections,
  • British Legion poppy appeal collection,
  • Littleport Funday Tombolas,
  • Spectacles & hearing aids collection,
  • Social meals,
  • Light hearted meetings,
