+  SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The Littlestown Lions Club has sponsored a scholarship pageant for junior girls in the Adams/Hanover Area High Schools since 1962.

+ CURRENT O.Y.W.: The new Adams/Hanover Area Outstanding Young Woman is Caroline Kilkelly, now a Delone Catholic High School Semior.  Miss Killkelly also won recognition in the state program in November with a preliminary scholarship award.  Other 2011 award recipients were runner-up Marissa Smithof SouthWestern High School, and category winners Emma Trask of Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School and Liaba Wool of Bermudian Springs.

+ 2012 PROGRAM:  The 2012 program will be held April 28.  It will be the program's 50th anniversary.  Contestans from Bermudian Springs, Delone, Fairfield,  Hanover,  Littlestown, New Oxford, SouthWestern and Upper Adams High Schools will be welcomed.  Prospective applicants can contact this web site.

+ JUDGING: Contestants are judged in five categories - Judges' Interview - Scholarship and Achievement - Perrforming Arts - Poise and Presentation - Aerobics and Fitness.

+ SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORS: Some $2,600 in scholarships were awarded at the conclusion of the 2011 program. (Nearly $80,000 has been awartded since the program's inception.)  Scholarships for 2011 were underwritten by:
