STARTING THE SUMMER OFF RIGHT

For the past fifteen years we have honored a Police Officer and a Firefighter from the cities of Longwood and Lake Mary Fl. who have gone above and beyond the call of duty while serving their communities.

So on June 1st we held our sixteenth annual Police and Firefighter awards banquet. This year we honored the following:

Cpl. Bradley Tollas from the Longwood Police Dept.

Firefighter Elizabeth Powers from the Longwood Fire Dept.

Officer Zach Hudson from the Lake Mary Police Dept.

Fire Inspector Jennifer Pierce from the Lake Mary Fire Dept.

We also honored Linda Norman, the Lake Mary Fire Dept. Office Administrator for arrangements she made getting us the banquet hall and the dinner.

On June 15th we award Lion Becky Donaldson and Lion Eric Taylor as our Lions of the Year for the work they did in the name of Lionism the past year. The fifteenth was also the installation of club officers for the 2010/2011 year. Lion Arvada Kindstrom from the Lockhart Lions Club did a great job with the installation of officers. Lion Arvada has been a great friend to our club over the years and we are thankful for her for comming and performing the installation.

Our first meeting of July will be a visitation to the Ovideo / Winter Springs Lions Club on July 6th.

Our second meeting on July 20th will be a normal business meeting at our regular meeting time and place. (please see our home page for time and address) We will also be saying good-bye to our friends Lion Sue and PDG Lion Ed. Lion Sue and Lion Ed we wish both of you the best of luck and happiness in your new city and home we will miss you.
