Meetings

Aloha. My name is Judy Datzman and I am proud to be the current President of the Makakilo-Kapolei Lions Club. Although our numbers are small, we are big in heart and spirit.

This past year, we have continued with many projects that we have been involved with, such as hosting the Hawaii Lions International Youth Camp Luncheon, assisting vision screening at various elementary schools and our first hosting opportunity at our adopted school, Mauka Lani Elementary, we provided eggs and worked with the Makakilo Recreation Center by having an Easter egg decorating contest and gave our prizes, we awarded a scholarship to a young lady who is now in Oregon working on her pharmaceutical degree, and some members continously work to paint out graffiti in our beautiful city.

This year we took on new adventures, such as, volunteering and attending training for the APEC conference last November, and recently had a congratulatory dinner and awarded a young man in our area for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. We also developed our Club's web site, and were recognized for our Leo's Club 10 year anniversary.

As for our fture of this great club? We will continue to serve our community and our fellow Lions unselfishly in whatever the need may be. We will actively seek new members and continue to grow in numbers and never forget our Lion's Pledge "to be proud to be a Lion, dedicated to the service of others".

Aloha and God bless,

Prexy Judy Datzman

President, Makakilo-Kapolei Lions Club
