The Manteca Lions Club was chartered in 1944. Its membership has seen its ups and downs, but has always served the needs of the people and community of Manteca. Placed near the center of District 4-A1, the most populous district in California, Manteca is the crossroads for all traffic through the Central Valley. Central Valley residents going to Sacramento, Yosemite, Fresno, and the Bay Area must all funnel through highways 120 and 99 or Interstate 5, all passing through or by Manteca.

As a club, our primary fundraising functions are the BBQ Rib Dinner held in May, and our ever popular Calamari Dinner in September. Money raised helps fund annual scholarships for graduating high school students, one for each of the four high schools located in the city of Manteca. The Manteca Lions Club also funds eye exams and eyeglasses for those less fortunate. We regularly support many charities beyond our own that service this community in different ways.
