Would you like to celebrate Midsummer with a walk for your cause?

Harborough Twenty 12 Lions Club (CIO) is excited to give you the chance to fundraise for your charity of choice by taking part in our Midsummer Dream Walk, on Saturday 18th June 2022 at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground Near Lutterworth (by kind permission of Manheim Vehicle Services). This fascinating and atmospheric site, which is not normally open to the public, saw the development of the UK’s first jets. The walk will take place along an ex cold-war runway, with views of old planes.

There’s a range of walks, suitable for the whole family, from laps of 5.6km, a shorter 2.75km route; plus a special walk of up to 400 metres on the main runway for those who cannot manage longer distances. The whole site is level ground and you walk on tarmac, so it’s open to all and is suitable for wheelchairs and baby buggies. Dogs allowed if on leads.

Toilets, food and drink will be available all day. Unlimited parking.

You will be charged an entry fee to cover parking and organisational costs, any profits from that will go to Lions’ charities (Charity no. 1180466). All money raised by your individual sponsorship will go to the charity designated by you. All you need to do is pay and download a sponsorship form using the links below.

Entry fees:

Under 5s: free

5s-16s: £5

Over 16s: £10

Families: £30 (two adults and up to four children)

There are three starting times to choose from:

10am-noon: for those wishing to do a long walk of several laps.

2pm- 4pm: for those wanting to do no more than 2 long laps.

8pm-9pm: Midsummer Evening Dream:  A wonderful evening wander as twilight falls - of up to a single lap. Not all of the walk is lit, so bear that in mind!
