Martisco Lions projects include cleaning trash from the road for 2 miles of NYS Route 174 (Otisco Valley Road) South from US-NYS Route 20 to the Otisco Lake Dam.
We do this in the spring and fall.
We usually collect about 200 pounds of trash, which goes to Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) for sorting, recycling and disposal.
Other major projects this year include:
- Preparing a club room for winter meetings, which had been held at restaurants and the Amber Community Center,
- Enlarging the parking area for the Athletic Field, used by Marcellus Girls Lacrosse League, and
- Improving drainage for the driveway, parking area and athletic field.
Next year we hope to improve the appearance of the entrance and exit to the parking area for the field, so image of the club, the image of the surrounding neighborhood, and so visitors (including competing teams) will have a more pleasant impression and experience.
