Garage Sale Clean-up Day for Sunshine Acres

Lions were busy again following the Sunland Springs Village Community Garage Sale Day. So busy, in fact, that four trucks were loaded with left-over items people were willing to donate through the Mesa SSV Lions, now headed to Sunshine Acres, for the benefit of orphans who are living at that site. Lion Gwen Eckholm was busy making the contacts and organizing Lions to staff the two sites where the trucks were loaded. Here is one of the trucks.

Lion Jerri Peterson served during the event, guiding donors to her drop-off location. She is shown here with the new Mesa SSV Lions Sandwich Board that marked the spot!

Lion Web Bloedorn was also on duty at the same collection site, apparently looking for more customers in this shot. Thanks to Lion Karen Torgersen who was our photographer.

Carol Taddon, The Christmas Stocking Project

Mesa SSV Lions are motivated to help fill stockings for needy children this year! We are collecting cereal bars for insertion into Christmas Stockings this project is creating. Since many needy children have little or nothing to eat over Christmas vacation, the point is to provide them with something to fill the gap. Over 2,000 cereal bars have been collected.

Carol Taddon Speaking with Guiding Lion Pete Wilson

Carol Taddon picked up the cereal bars donated by Lions and Mesa SSV residents this week. Here she is holding one of the stockings to be used for distribution of the bars and other goods for the needy children.
