American Red Cross Blood Drive
Tuesday, March 2, 2010, 2:00 PM to 7:45 PM
Give the gift of life by donating a pint of blood during the American Red Cross Blood Drives at the Metamora Lions Club. Qualified America Red Cross workers and Lion's volunteerswill be at the Lloyd H. Jakobus Lions Hall to receive your precious donation that can be the gift of life to someone in need.
April 16 & 17, 2010 - White Cane Week
White Canes are sold every April by the Metamora Lions in downtown Metamora and at the locations below. Sales of the White Canes provide funds for the many Lions Club sight programs.
May thru September - Long Gun Raffle Ticket Sales
The annual Long Gun Raffle takes place October 1st through October 25th. One prize is awared to the ticket owner with the raffle ticket whose number matches that day's 3 Digit Lotto number. One prize is awarded per raflle ticket. All proceeds support Metamora Lions' projects.
September 18, 2010 - Children's Charities Golf Outing
The Metamora Lions Club Children’s Fund Charity Golf Outing is being held at Lapeer Country Club. Check in is at 7:30 am with a shotgun start at 9:00 am. Its $65 per golfer, a scramble format and is open to men’s, ladies and mixed teams. Your entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, hotdogs at the turn, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, skins, Vegas Hole, 50/50 raffle and dinner (dinner only is $20).
Sponsor a hole for only $50 and an attractive sign will be placed at that hole. Help this event be a success by donating a door prize. All proceeds go to the Metamora Lions Children's Charities Fund.
October 1 & 2, 2010 - Cider & Donut Sales
The Metamora Lion Club celebrates the beginning of the autumn season with its annual October fresh cider and donut sale in downtown Metamora. All proceeds support Metamora Lions' projects.
October 31, 2010 - Lions' Children's Halloween Party
Halloween candy, cider, donuts and hotdogs fresh from the grill are available to Metamora’s young ghouls and goblins. All this and more happen Halloween Night under the Ellen M. Yorks Pavilion next to Lions Park. Weather permitting there will be a bonfire behind the pavilion. There has been reports of a phantom fireworks display appearing out of nowhere during past Lions Halloween parties.
December - Metamora Christmas Tree Lighting
Each year the Metamora Lions Club sponsors the Metamora Village Christmas Tree Light Ceremony. The Club serves up free cookies and hot cocolate to the carolers and the spectators at this festive occasion.
Thursday, December 9, 2010 - Sr. Citizens Holiday Dinner
The holiday season is time for the Metamora Lions Club ‘s annual Senior Citizens Holiday Dinner. The Club’s membership along with the Lapeer West Cheerleaders and Scouts serve over 300 people a roast turkey dinner with all of the trimmings during this annual event that brings old friends together. Each lady gets a beautiful poinsettia for their holiday center piece compliments of the Lions.
