ANNUAL PROJECTS AND SUPPORT - WHAT WE DO:

• Annual  Milan Lions Club Fourth of July Parade
• Help provide the funding for the 4th of July Fireworks
• Helped create the walking path in the Daren Baker Memorial Park.
• Provide scholarships (typically 4) to graduating seniors of Milan High School
  
• Assist with Eye Screenings in the community schools around Ripley County
• Provide support to Milan students who may need assistance in buying eye-glasses
  
• Sponsor Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
• Work the admission ticket booth for all home MHS basketball games.
• Work ticket booths at Indiana State Fair gates to support the Indian State Lions Foundation.
  
• Milan Middle School 5th Grade Free Dictionary project.
• Provide Dictionaries for the elementary school library
• Provided Spanish-English dictionaries for the high school.
  
• Publish a Community Calendar with:
  • birthdays
  • anniversaries
  • community events including the MHS sports and concert events
• Work at the Milan High School Craft Show
• Help decorate the community during the Christmas Season
  • We put up and take down the streetlight decorations
    
• We support and help maintain Camp Woodsmoke
  • a Lions District camp near Lake Santee providing camping opportunities for handicapped children.
• Help maintain and support the Indiana School for the Blind And Visually Impaired in Indianapolis,IN
• Help fund the Milan Community Relief or Food Pantry.
• Collect used eyeglasses, cell phones, and hearing aids for recycling
• Donate funds to the Milan Fire Department, Rescue 30 and the Milan Council of Churches
• Donate funds to Juvenile Diabetes and help raise awareness.
• We also support the following State Lions Programs:
  • Cancer Control
  • Lions Eye and Tissue Bank
  • Leader Dog Program
  • Speech and Hearing.
