BINGO

We are helping at BINGO every Saturday night 8:30pm to 10:30pm at Delta Bingo on Notre Dame

Adopt a Road

MLLC will be picking litter twice a year as part of the Sudbury Adopt a Road. We are picking the stretch of Howie Dr. from Harry Cr to St Raphael.We also do the City Wide Cleanup Campaign in May which includes all of Bancroft from Howdy to Kingsway and Moomlight from the Kingsway to Bancroft

Eye Glasses

Each month we collect glasses for Lions International. To date we have collected 75,000 glasses ( 2021)

Guide Dogs

In 2012, MLLC donated $12,000 to support two Sight Dogs and in 2013 $12,000 for an autism dog through the Lions Guide Dog programme in Oakville Ontario. We have also donated $2000 to the DG 2017 Seizure Dogs

Minnow Lake Park

We support the park on Minnow Lake. We donated $35,000 to the Skateboard Park in Minnow Lake

Soccer

Minnow Lake Lions sponsors a team in the Sudburnia Soccer Club

Midway

Annually in May , Minnow Lake Lions and 4 other charities sponsor a Midway in Sudbury. The last few years in Hanmer since 2013.

Family Fun Day in Minnow Lake

For June 2015. Minnow Lake Lions held its 4rd Annual Family Fun Days at Adamsdale Public School. This was the 2nd time we used this new venue rather than Minnow Lake Place. It is better for the kids and closer to families For 2017 and 2018 we used Morel Park on 2nd Ave.

Maison McCulloch Hospice

Minnow Lake Lions donated funds to build the gazebo along the Walk of Life

House of Kin

Minnow Lake donated money for a room called the Minnow Lake Lions room.

Tree Planting October 2012 and June 2015

In partnership with Nickle District Conservation Authority and Minor hockey planted 1200 trees at Lake Ramsey Conservation Area

Kids Breakfast with Santa

Starting in December 2017 we partner with Our Childre Our Future to provide a Christmas Breakfast for pre- school kids and their parents inteh Minnow Lake Area

School BBQs

Since 2018 we have proved a school funday BBQ at Queen Elzabeth Public School in June. We have extended that to one other school in Minnow Lake

Free Tims Coffee and Donuts For Frontline Workers 2020

For June and July we distributed in partnership with Tim hortons (MacKenzie Stores) to bring a break to all frontline workers at the LTC facilities in Sudbury,

Food Bank 2020

For 2020 we have worked withOCOF (Our Children Our Future) to distribte food to needy families in Minnow Lake. We did that in September. October and will do it in November and maybe December during COVID10

Keeping Seniors Warm

This is a program by the City in partnership with other groups to provide warm clothing to seniors in our city. Lion Barb Nott from Teachers Lion Club asked for Lions volunteers to escort the seniors shopping at Giant Tiger

Smiley Cookies

Members of MLLC assist Tim Horton locations producing the "smile" in the annual Smiley Cookie Fund Raiser. A large portion of the fund is donated to the Telethon

Minnow Lake Lions Community Garden

The spring of 2022, we built 8 elevated beds for the Community Gardens. Funds were obtained from a HCI grant from the City of Sudbury.

Minnow Lake Lions Cmmunity Garden will provide recreational, social and physical exercise to residents of Minnow Lake but focusing on seniors, mobility challenged and apartment dwellers. The Lions Club will be the core workers to ensure the continuity of the Garden but inviting targeted groups to participate.
