June 2021 Service Project

The club donated household items to the New Hope Housing Welcome Home Kits, the supplies will help those less fortunate moving into new apartments in the local area. (below)

April 2021 Service Project

On April 20th the club donated 26 containers of disinfectant wipes and $200 worth of gift cards to Mount Eagle Elementary School.

 

 

                    

 

 March 2021 Service Project

Lions Mary Jane, Dolores, Mary Beth,and Andrea gave out food at ROCK. Dolores prepared the food which was a chicken dish. We also boxed 15 servings for the home bound. 

        

 

February​ 2021 Service Project

The club donated Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee to 2 local retirement facilities.
It was an appreciated relief for staff during the COVID pandemic.

December 2020 Service Project

MVE Lions collect socks, underwear, and gloves for United Community. 42 pairs of Diabetic socks were donated!

 

           

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

November 2020 Service Project

  President Christian delivers Thanksgiving items collected by the Club to United Community. Just under 20 lbs. of food were donated!

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Mount Vernon Evening Lions Club serves our community by:

  • Providing eye exams and glasses
  • Conducting sight and hearing screening tests
  • Collecting and recycling eyeglasses and hearing aids
  • Providing food and clothing to local schools and social agencies
  • Contributing holiday gifts, shawls, and bingo items to local nursing homes
  • Donating large print books to Sherwood Hall Library
  • Supporting youth activities at local schools
  • Sponsoring local schools for the International Lions Peace Poster Contest
  • Supporting scholarships for vision impaired
  • Providing lunch at "The Rock" for hungry citizens
  • Sponsor music competition for local students
