Lions Club of Nairobi greater was formed on 29th April 1988 with a membership of 37 who harboured a common belief to make our society a better place to live in for the ones which it is not. The club is part of District 411A comprising of Kenya; Ethiopia and Scheyselles. 

Among the distinguished founder members Lion Dr. Manoj Shah; Lion Swaran Singh ; Lion Direndra K Shah; Lion Bharat Shah 's names are noteworthy. Their commendable ceaseless contributions to Lionism has made them recognised in the District level and international level in various leadership roles.

We had the proud privilege to celebrate our Silver jubilee of 25 great years in 2013.

Currently the club has 33 active members who dedicate their time, efforts and resources to serve the less fortunates of the society to enhance the quality of their lives.

The club partakes various large and medium-scaled projects which it embarks on from scratch and continue to support in all possible ways. Apart from these, club members participate in regular donation activities to various educational institutes or destitutes homes catering to their food requirements, educational or medical needs.
