Ladies and Gentlemen – Good evening and thanks for coming to our small, but for many people, very important Lions Club.

Our club, named Lions Club Napoli Monte Nuovo  was founded 6 years ago, in 2008.

The conditions for the club and the number of members have varied a lot. In the beginning the club was granted permission to collect donations inside the base. But from last year this was stopped by the former Commander. We will soon request the new Commander to have permission to continue our work for charity, also inside JFCNP.

The number of members has been more than 50 from the beginning, but for the time being it’s down to 10. The ideal number should be 15-20 members or more, which is something we all should work on in the time to come. And I’m very happy to tell that 2 new members are here today, and another is interested to join. Recruiting to the club had a good start this summer.

In spite of the low number of members, the club has managed to raise more than 14.000,- Euro. An impressing achievement. The money has mainly been spent on children daycares and homes for disabled in our local area, following our rule: one Euro in, one Euro out. The latest project, to support the Villa Delle Rose in Lago Patria, the home for 30 disabled people.

We meet every month for a club meeting in a relaxed atmosphere. It normally takes place here at Ristorante Maroders in Varcaturo, where we will enjoy an evening meal together. At these meetings, future activities, charity goals as well as social events with our families will be discussed. Members will volunteer as “project managers” for single events and activities.

Finaly.

Thomas: thank you for your effort as president and your contribution to the club and to all the people that need our support. I look forward to take the presidency for the coming year, supported by the new vice president Christine and Trine as Tail Twister (web designer and public relations). Ib will of course still be the king pin and mentor of all our activity, a very warm thank you to you Ib.

I look forward to working with you all, in the year to come. Thank you.
