
The New York Cosmopolitan Lions Club was formally “The Lioness Club of New York Chinese American” sponsored by the Lions Club of New York Chinese American. It was organized on July 28th 1980 with 22 members. In 1987, the International Association made an amendment to the constitution and all Lioness Clubs became known as Lions Clubs. The New York Chinese American Lioness Club was reorganized on June 30, 1987 with 44 members as a Lions Club. Members chose the name New York Cosmopolitan Lions Club to reflect the various ethnic composition of the club. Presently we have 35 members with five members from branch club.
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
