Adopt a Family Project - December 2011
The BR-H-OB Lions Club brought a little Christmas joy to two families this year. Both families were referred to us by Hinsdale Community Services. The club donated toys, gift cards and educational gifts. The parents were both single, working mothers. Both moms expressed their thanks and gratitude for the gifts provided by the club. Special thanks to Melinda Plott for being the liaison for this annual project.
Ice Cream Social at the King-Bruwaert House - August 17, 2011
August 18, 2011: From Bonnie at K-B: Our Ice Cream Social and concert last night was a huge success. We had more than 200 guests and residents and great weather (despite some early concerns for storms). I will send a thank you note to the Lions Club. The Lions Club volunteers worked steadily to scoop and distribute ice cream, lemonade and cookies. Everyone had a great time – and we are getting many accolades for the event today.
