 Below are some of the Projects that Oldham Lions Club are involved with, including Message in a Bottle.  Fund Raising with our Race Night.  Putting on a Stall at Oldham Carnival, and taking part in the Annual Charity Canal Towpath Walk.  This year in aid of North west and Yorkshire Air Ambulance Services.

The picture above shows Oldham District Lions Club member -- Lion Alan making one of his hundreds of Message in a Bottle, community-service project, presentations.

The largest service project of the Oldham District Lions Club (our Twin Club) in England is the MIAB project (Message in a Bottle). The project is designed to give medical information to paramedics or first responders in case of an emergency of an elderly or indigent person, during an emergency situation.

To the left, Oldam Lions Club member -- Alan Hastry, Club Secretary makes a presentation on the MIAB project before helping fill out the information to go in the bottle, for those who may need assistance.
 


 


 

 

 

We do Bingo sessions at a Elderly Home.
Overnight Toilet Packs for families of Hospital Patients.

Taking part in the ParaTed Project.

The supplying of Teddy Bears to Ambulance crews for children to cuddle as a comfort, and to show on the Teddy, where their pain is located.  The teddy Bear is then given to the child to keep and the Lions Club replaces the Teddy bear in the Ambulance. 

The Club are activily involved with the Bottle in the Fridge Project and make frequent presentations to other Organisations and distribute the bottles to people attending the presentations.  Since August 2009 over 4500 Bottles have been distributed to the Elderley and Vulnerable people within the Oldham Area.

Each Christmas we put up the Decorations in the Corridor of the A&E Department, at the Royal Oldham Hospital.


We have taken children to the circus and local pantomimes.
Oldham Lions is also very active in it's Zone, working with other clubs and attending Zone Socials and other clubs Charter Nights. 


We have a good social life.
We have attended the District 105BN Convention at the Barton Grange, Garstang.  Rochdale Lions Club Charter. Middleton Lions Club Charter.  We will be attending Heywood lions club Charter, and Littleborough Lions Club Charter.  We will also be attending the MD Convention in Leeds in May 2010.

Over the years Members have attended  International Conventions which are held annually. We have attended the Conventions in Hawaii, Denver, and Chicago, and hopefully at least two members will be attending the 2011 Convention in Seattle.

Oldham Lions Club Charter is on Saturday 11th June 2011 7pm for 7.30pm at the Saddleworth Golf Club, Uppermill.

We would love you to come and support our Club.  You will be made very Welcome.

Below is Lions Marj and Beverley (Oldham Lions Club) after collecting their Certificates for walking from Rochdale to todmorden 12 1/2 miles. They have both done the walk every year since it started.
