Lions Clubs International is a strong organization with a proud history of accomplishment. At the core of this success are dedicated club members who devote their time and attention to serving their communities.

More than fifty strong, the Orcas Island Lions Club joins over 1.3 million Lions serving in nearly 205 countries and geographical areas around the world. Membership includes dedicated men and women who are leaders in the community, representing a diversity of backgrounds, professions and interests. The Orcas Island Lions Club is part of a history bound by tradition and rich with service to the community. Since our founding in 1972 members have generously volunteered themselves through special programs, and partnerships established between us and other community organizations. Through pledges and fundraising Lions give children and adults resources to experience sports, arts, and every day activities.

A few of the things that we do -

Support hearing impaired by providing hearing aids

Sponsor the NW Lions eye bank for corneal transplants

Provide refurbished eye glasses from donated frames

Sponser the Puget Sound blood drives on Orcas

Sponser the Dental Van

Support Camp Horizon for handicaped kids

Provide scholarships to local high school graduates

Provide a health screening van - Free

Easter Egg Hunt

Supplied the Senior center with a sound system

Support youth outreach, by providing funds for athletics, computers, special lessons, Destination Immagination, Orcas Recreation Department, Boy and Girl Scouts....

How do we pay for these?

Through your generosity and the generosity of the local lions members. When you purchase a salmon bake ticket for our annual July 4th weekend Salmon Bake, or pay a dollar for a raffle that we are sponsoring or by renting a tent and chairs for your special occasion -- you help the Orcas Island Lions provide these services.

Thank you for helping us help our community
