Meetings

Main Volunteering Event:

In October, 2007, The Park West Lions Club began operating a satellite eyeglass recycling center with two lensometers  provided by the Northern Virginia Eyeglass Recycling Center.  Eyeglass recycling is conducted every Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and every Thursday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Park West Lions Community Center.    As the program grew, we acquired two more lensometers and invited other Lions clubs and civic organizations to participate.  Members from the Dale City Lions Club, Dumfries/Potomac Lions Club, Lake Ridge Lions Club, Manassas Lioness/Lions Club, the Garfield High School Leo Club, Boy Scout Troop 1182, and Venturing Crew 617 have all participated in the recycling program.  On the third Tuesday of each month, the Woodbridge Lions Club operates the recycling program.  Since its inception, over 60,000 pairs of eyeglasses have been processed through the Park West Lions Club eyeglass recycling center.  Any Lions Club that would like to participate in the Park West eyeglass recycling operation can contact Lion Stan Pearson at lionstanp@yahoo.com.
