     Our next meeting is one of our most fun times of the year…our annual picnic.  This is a great time to introduce friends to our club, and to take your significant other out to dinner.  We are fortunate to have the great team of Lions,  Jack and Jackie Wilder and Tim Suggs, to cook our hamburgers and hot dogs to perfection.  They not only cook, but they haul the grills on site.  They really SERVE the club!

Secretary Lion Margie Hankinson is working on updating parts of it.  The history of the club is there…great reading!  Thanks to Lion Past President Chip Howard for starting it some years ago.

                      Piedmont Emergency Relief Center is always in need of both help and money for food.  Because of their connection with the Harvest Hope Food Bank, they are able to buy some foods at 19 cents a pound, far cheaper than these same foods would cost us at the store.  Our YES WE CAN campaign this year will be collecting money at the September picnic. If you prefer to bring some canned goods, we will take them then or at the October meeting.

  Congratulations to Lion Mike Hammett for his appointment to two Lions District roles.  He is the new Zone 2 Chair and continues as District 32-S LCIF Chairman.  A record level of donations were given during the 2022-2023 Lion year under his leadership.  He continues to chair this committee for this Lions year also.  We are fortunate to have him working for Lionism from our club.  A giant “roar” of appreciation to our Lion Mike.
