PLAINFIELD LIONS CLUB HOSTING FREE VISION SCREENING AT SUMMER READING CLUB KICK-OFF PARTY

The Plainfield Lions Club will be hosting a free vision screening at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library's Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Party on May 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This free screening will be available for children 18 months through 6.years of age. Only an eye doctor can diagnose and treat a vision problem, but this screening by Lion volunteers can help identify those children that need to see an optometrist or ophthalmologist for a full eye exam. No physical contact is made with the children and no eye drops or medications are used. The information obtained from this screening is preliminary only and does not constitute a formal eye exam. Not all vision problems will be detected by the vision screening process. Lion volunteers will be providing these free screenings in a meeting room in the Children’s Activity Area. In addition, Lions will also be collecting eyeglasses, hearing aids and old keys. Eyeglasses will be redistributed to people in need in developing countries; hearing aids will be refurbished for use by people in financial need, and old keys will be collected in order to raise money for the Indiana Lions Cancer Control Fund for assisting patients and research.

Please help the Plainfield Lions raise money to fight diabetes, blindness, hunger, pediatric cancer and help the environment. Just click this link https://radafundraising.com/?rfsn=800304.df095 and our group will receive 40% profit from your order.

PLAINFIELD LONS CLUB

Our community's best kept secret!

Our Motto:  "We Serve"

Mission Statement:  To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Vision Statement:  To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.

One of our Purposes:  To encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

Who Are Lions?

- Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. To be a Lion is to be an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in the community and a friend to people in need.

- Our 46,000 Clubs and 1.4+ million members in 210 countries make us the world's largest service club organization.

Lions are best known for their efforts to eradicate preventable blindness. However, we are much more. Lions are serving their communities through vision projects, youth engagement, services for children, health initiatives, disaster relief and more.

Being a Lion allows you to help change lives, even if you do not have a lot of spare time. You can commit as much time as you wish and as your schedule allows.

Lions are ethical and honest. We give 100 percent of donations back to the community and cover all oour operational costs through membership dues.

Where there's a NEED, there's a LION in your COMMUNITY and around the WORLD.

For 91 years, the Plainfield Lions Club has been giving back to the Plainfield community, Hendricks County, the State of Indiana and the world.
