Plainfield Lions Club Activities and Projects:

- Donated two limestone benches for the Plainfield Bicentennial Park.

- Participates in Operation KidSight and through this vision screening have identified PreK and Preschool children with vision needs and provided one child with an eye exam and glasses.

- Assists with providing eye exams, glasses, ocular surgery assistance and hearing aids to those in need.

- Collected and distributed hand crafted Valentines made by Plainfield elementary students for residents of four senior living facilities in Plainfield

-Distributed Christmas cards to the residents and staff of four senior living facilities in Plainfield

- Collects Keys for Cancer where the money collected from recycled keys goes directly into the Indiana Lions Cancer Control Fund and on to the Simon Cancer Center at IUPUI for research.

- Collects food  for and made monetary donation to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church Food Pantry.

- Awarded a scholastic college scholarship of $500 to a deserving senior at Plainfield High School.

- Supports the Hendricks County Community Foundation.

- Collects and recycle eyeglasses for third world use and hearing aids for those in financial need.

- Promotes diabetes awareness & prevention, a leading cause of new-onset blindness, a growing world epidemic that is expected to affect over 642 million people by 2040.

- Has supported Sheltering Wings who provide emergency housing for women and children suffering from any form of domestic abuse.

- Has supported Susie's Place Child Advocacy Center to protect the children of Hendricks County from child abuse.

- Has supported The Gathering Together, who provide free of charge end-of-life care, nurturing and support for their guests and families.

- Provided partial scholarships to Plainfield High School students to attend Indiana State Police Career Camp with an up-close look at law enforcement and the criminal justice system

- Provided a Leader Dog to a Plainfield resident.

- Participated with the Boy Scouts and picked up trash along Quaker Boulevard in the Adopt-A-Highway program.

- Participated in tree plantings at Quaker Day Festival.

- Provided reading radios where audio access to local and selected national newspapers and magazines are read out loud for the visually impaired.

- Provided disaster assistance with monetary help from Lions International when Whitelick Creek flooded.

- Donated a macular degenerative reader to the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library.

- Donated a Color My World color blind kit to the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library.

- Has supported Boy Scouts, Junior Miss and the Little League.

- Created and copyrighted the Plainfield Quaker Man for our community when Plainfield was sued by Quaker Oats for using their logo.

Indiana State Projects:

- Supports Indiana Lions Cancer Control, a fund used exclusively to fight cancer. Projects are devoted to the treatment of cancer patients, training of health care professionals and research

- Supports VisionFirst-Indiana Lions Eye Bank to improve the quality of life through eye and tissue transplantation, medical research and education

- Supports Indiana Lions Foundation to assist Lions Clubs to carry out their charitable purposes

- Supports Indiana Lions Speech and Hearing to eliminate communication barriers for those who are unable to obtain help elsewhere by providing loaner or low cost hearing aids

- Supports Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired to assist the school and its outreach programs, the faculty and support the students

- Supports Leader Dogs for the Blind to provide guide dogs to people who are blind & visually impaired to enhance their mobility, independence, safety & self-worth

International Projects:

- Supports Lions Clubs International Foundation, to assist Lions districts with large-scale humanitarian projects that are too expansive and costly for each club to finance on their own.
