For over 40 years the Port Williams and District Lions Club has been serving our community.
Some of our Club's service activities:
Donated $1000.00 to The Port Williams Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of Traffic Control Equipment in recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the Department .
The Hardwood Podium presented to the Village Commission for use in the Community Centre Auditorium in recognition of the 60th Anniverary of the Incorporation of the Village Commission.
Donated $1260.00 towards the cost of a cabin at Camp Brigadoon.
Donated $500.00 to Lions Clubs International Foundation for Japan Relief
Donated $350.00 towards cost of hosting the 2012 World Blind Golf Championship in Nova Scotia .
Donated funds and labour to the Sun Shelter at the Community Children's Park
Constructed and maintenance of the Village Princess Float for Apple Blossom Parade
Maintenance of the Public Picnic Park and tables at Church Street Corner
Annual Bursary at Horton High School
Construction of new home for needy citizen
Annual Trophies for Cornwallis Projest 4-H Club
Neighbourhood Watch and Crime Stoppers Programs
Adopt-A-Highway cleanup in cooperation with Women's Intitute
The 40' extention to the Community Centre
The addition of the Seniors Room and Float Storage Area to the Community Centre
Road Signs at enterance to Village and Community Centre Sign
CNIB community canvas and the collection of used eye glasses
Conducted initial survey which led to the construction of Orchard View Manor
The Tennis Courts construction at Port Williams Elementary School
The redelevelopment of the Skating Pond on Belcher Street
Provided the orginial civic numbers for Village residence
Support for Safe Graduation Program at Horton High School
Purchased furnishings for boardroom at EKM Health Centre
Provisions of eye glasses, mist tents and other health related equipment for needy citizens
Financial donations to numerous orginizations including VON, Family and Children's of Kings County and Canadian Diabetes Association
Equipment donations to Boy Scouts, Fire Department, Youth Sports Teams, Speech and Hearing Clinic (Valley Regional Hospital), Nova Scotia Eye Clinic (V.G Hospital, Halifax) and Grand View Manor ( Van Fund)
Provision of Christmas Baskets for those in need
