Providence Lions Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner

Spaghetti & Meatballs
The Providence Lions Club will be holding a Spaghetti & Meatball Fundraiser Dinner on October 15, 2011. The event will be held at the Holy Rosary Church Hall at 21 Traverse St in Providence from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Dinner will consist of salad, spaghetti & meatballs, garlic bread and a tasty dessert.
Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12.
Proceeds to benefit:
Providence Lions Thanksgiving Food Baskets
Providence Lions Candy X-Mas Stockings for Underpriviledged Children

25 Years of Service

Service
On May 5, 2010 the Providence Lions honored fellow Lion Mark Morse for 25 years of service to our club and the community. Mark received a 25 year pin and an award from the club commemerating this achievement. Mark, thank you for your support and service.

Vision Screening

Vision Screening
On Saturday April 17, 2010 the Providence Lions took part in the Urban League Guild - Annual Health Fair at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Cranston St., in Providence. The club provided eye sight screening for the event. The focus of this event was Diabetes and related illnesses.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Thanksgiving Baskets
On Saturday, November 20, 2010 The Providence Lions, in conjunction with WPRO Radio and The Buddy Cianci Radio Show, delivered Thanksgiving baskets to the needy across the State from Cumberland to Charlestown. The members collected turkeys and all the fixings for 58 complete baskets. Last year the club delivered 50 Thanksgiving baskets and we look to build on this event in the coming years. Thank you to all who donated and volunteered to make this event successful.

Christmas Stockings

Christmas Stockings
On Saturday, December 1, 2010 The Providence Lions, gathered to assemble 400 candy filled Christmas stockings to be handed out to area children at Christmas parties thru various community organizations. The stocking were delivered to Rhode Island DCYF, Childrens Friends and Services, St Mary's Home for Children, McAulley House, the Elmwood Community Center and the Washington Park Community Center.

Eye Glass Recycling 2009

Providence Lions Eyeglass Recycling Campaign
The Providence Lions Club wound up another successful eye glass recycling campaign on Saturday, November 14th. The club collected and wrapped 1677 pair of eyeglasses and readied them for shipment to the New Jersey recycling center. Pictured below are some members sorting, counting and packing. .

Giant Liquor Wagon Raffle Winners!!!

The club held its annual Liquor Wagon Raffle Fundraiser at this year's State Night event January 29, 2011 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Warwick. With first prize a giant wagon full of top shelf liquor. Second prize was a very ample wine basket. Third prize was a margarita basket.
