Our Club Joint activity with district team took survey of drought prone villages- Hivare, Nilunj, Khanwade, Sakurde and Khalad in Purandar Taluka in Pune District. We found drought situation in these villages is bad. Ln Sudhakar Kumthekar & Ln Nemichand Bora taking steps for Students from Marathwada from drought affected families studying in Pune vidyapith for educational aid of Rs 1500/month for next 3 months.

Sunday 21st April 2013, 7.30 am for Survey cum Inspection visit to Nilunje, Khalad village near saswad,Pune Our Club Joint activity with district team took survey of drought prone villages- Hivare, Nilunj, Khanwade, Sakurde and Khalad in Purandar Taluka in Pune District. We found drought situation in these villages is bad and villagers do not have water to drink nor for their cattle. Our club responded immediately and declaired contribution Rs. 11,000/-to drought relief fund. And we have took immediate action by starting distribution of water tankers to Nilunj and Sapurde village.

Our Club Joint activity with District Chairperson Environment Lion Anil Mandrupkar along with District Drought Relief Committee invites you for the activity for Water conservation at TALWADE , Tah.: Koregaon , Distt.: SATARA (110 km from Pune) on Sunday, 7th April 2013. We have identified 4 villages. This visit is to meet people and actually see the condition and identify at least one village to work upon. Intention is to start work for water which will serve following purpose. a. Generate immediate employment from this work. This will help reducing/stopping migration of villagers. b. Work done now will help to face water problem in future. Currently they have water problem. Villagers get drinking water from tube wells in village. Water for other use is supplied by Tanker, which is sourced 22 kms away from one of the tube well. In another one month situation will deteriorate. Sarpanch(Mr. Ajit Bhoite) and Villagers are aware and don't want to live on tanker year over year. They want to get relief from tanker and do farming too. Currently because of lack of water they don't have anything in field. People who has sugarcane and other produce its dying/burning because of lack of water. Highlights and next action is as below: Villagers are ready to work on 'Tanker Free Tadwale' . This will be our one point program.   Rs. 500/-

Joint October service week celebration Activity of Zone-I,Region-VI - Orphans picnic @ krushnai Water Park on sinhgad Road on 7th October 2012. 37 Orphans from Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Trust operated Bal Sangopan Kendra, Kondhawa khurd, Pune-48 from age group between 6 to 14 were taken to venue by bus at 10 am. Breakfast, Lunch and snacks served. Children played in water park, enjoyed water rides till 2pm. Story books, cloth, sweets were distributed at the hands of Lions dignitaries present. Stories told by Mr Bhave (A well known historian) and Ln Anand Ambekar. Ln Vandana Dambare sung song and self written poems. International President’s RAP program conducted in natural atmosphere, children sat below a mango tree and read story book collectively in guidance of Mr Bhave. Lions attended: DG Lion B.L. Joshi, Lion Bina Joshi, Rc Lion Anand Ambekar, ZC Lion Ravi Golar, PDG Lion CD sheth, Reg Coordinator Lion Suketu shah, cabinet officers Lion Krishnannath Pandit, Lion Vaijayanti Pandit, Lion Bajrag Akhade, Lion Vijay Badhe, Lion Nemichand Bora, Lion Sudhakar Kumthekar and Club officers of Region VI along with resp.club members were present for the activity. Seminar was conducted by Dr Mrs Joshi .Its was attended by large number of women from local area along with local Municipal Corporator. Afterword Cancer detection Camp was conducted by Dr Gandali Desai and team.
