Meetings

The Quincy Valley Lions Club was chartered in 1996 with 25 members.  We are part of an international organization founded with a desire to serve our community.  We have several projects we use to raise funds to better serve our community's need.

Some of the past projects we have accomplished are; playground equipment in North Park, a scoreboard for the Quincy Youth Baseball, police video camera, skateboard park, directional signs, downtown banners, downtown Christmas decorations, Quincy Community Center Kitchen, George Community Hall tables.  We donated $5000 towards the new library.  We provide scholarships, eye glasses, hearing aids.  Each year we host a free health screening van.  We also are involved in the Quincy Beautification program.

Our club is very active in our community and provide several fun activities each year.  We hold a golf tournament in June to raise funds for one big project a year.  We host the Farmer-Consumer Awareness Day Parade on the second Saturday in September.  We have a straw maze and pumpkin patch the month of October, Turkey Bingo in November and provide a Quincy Community Christmas in December with games, entertainment, refreshments and the arrival of Santa Claus.

We want everyone to see a better tomorrow and we believe everyone deserves a healthy life so we also support sight, hearing and diabetes programs and the International Peace Poster Contest.

We are proud to be a part of such a large organization meeting the challenges and needs of those around us.  WE SERVE.

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
