Biographies
Lion President Andrew D Clarkson
Lion Andrew joined the Lions in 2002 when he became a member of Bury Lions Club. A professional driving instructor for 28 years, he served as Tail Twister, Lion Tamer, Activities Chair, Carnival Co-ordinator, Web-Master, 2nd Vice and 1st Vice, before eventually serving as Club President in 2006/7. He has also served the District as Leadership Development Officer. In 2008, Andrew transferred to R&W LC when it became clear the club was about to fold. In 2009, he became R&W Club President and is hoping to steer the club back to better health and success. He is also currently serving the District again as Zone Chairman and Assistant to the Leadership Development Officer.
Lion Secretary Vivien Marcus
Although Viv has only recently become a member, she has long been involved in Lions activities though her partner, Ezzy. Now retired, she was a health care professional for many years. She is proving to be a lynchpin at our club.
Lion Treasurer Rashid Bhana
We are all grateful to Rashid, an Accountant and new to lionism, for agreeing to take charge of the club finances.
Immediate Past President Lion Tony Greenhalgh
Tony has stood as President for many years and is still active at club meeting and events.
Vice President Lion Ezzy Marcus
Former President with neighbours Prestwich and Bury, Ezzy is looking forward to being President at his third club. Well known amongst lions the world over, Ezzy is full of ideas and keeps us all on our toes.
Lion Alison Glen, Youth Coordinator
Alison, our youngest member, has just accepted a proposal of Marriage to Lion Rashid, so Congrats both.
Lion Terry Clarke, Health and Safety Officer
We welcome Terry to lionism and immediately employed him as Tailtwister, a role at which he excels (much to my expense)
Lion Harvey Hurwitch, PRO Officer
Another former lion back into the pride, Harvey has the contacts to get publicity and projects off the ground.
