On November 13, 2017, 2017 Henrico Christmas Mother Gay Rudis talked to the club about the Christmas Mother Program as it celebrates 75 years of service. Since 1942, Henrico Christmas Mother has provided food, new clothes, toys, books, and other gifts.



On October 9, 2017, FBI Special Agent David P. Hulser gave an education and very timely presentation on ways club members can protect themselves from identity fraud.



On October 9, 2017, Lion Jack Meagher, Chair Awards Committee, presents an award to Dumbarton Management Services for its long-term support of the club. Lion Bev Webb accepts the award for Dumbarton Management Services.



Our August 28, 2017 guest speaker was J. Randall David, Community Outreach Coordinator, Office of the Attorney General, State of Virginia. Mr. Davis spoke to the club about the ongoing fight against healthcare fraud.



On September 11, 2017, Mr. Bernie Henderson, President, Woody's Funeral Homes, gave a riveting, hour by hour historical presentation on the final days and hours of President George Washington and the details of his funeral.



On August 14, 2017, Schuyler Van Valkenburg, Henrico County school teacher and candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, spoke to the club about the needs of the commonwealth and his recommendations to address them.



On July 10, 2017, Mr. Kevin Parks, spoke to club members about improving quality of life issues in senior housing. Mr. Parks is president and owner of “A Helping Hand” a senior housing referral service.



Lion President Tom Anderson thanks Timothy J. Bentley III, Resident Vice President for Government Relations, Norfolk Southern Corporation for his presentation on the history of the railroad company.



Trae Cairns, owner of the family operated Midnight Brewery located in Goochland County gave an informative presentation on micro-brewing to club members on May 8, 2017.



Bunny and Bryan Wilks bought “Elvis” to the April 24, 2017 club meeting to talk about their roles as puppy raisers for the Cassville, New York based non-profit organization Freedom Guide Dogs for the Blind.
