Lions are members of community service clubs, dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. More than 43,000 strong, these local clubs are part of the world's largest such organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.

The Rochester Host Lions Club meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at noon at the Eagles Club,  917 15th Ave SE , next to Cub Foods.

There are also two other Lions clubs in Rochester, the Morning Pride Club meets at the Charlie's Eatery and Pub, 7:00 a.m., the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. The '76 Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday at Charlie's Eatery and Pub, 6:15 p.m.

LOCAL PROJECTS:

  • Lions Avenues of Flags      Learn more about it at  lionsavenuesofflags.org
  • Support local projects around the community
  • Contributed money and labor to build an Oxbow  Park picnic shelter and provide help with painting tables and shelters
  • Contribute annually or sponsor Rochester youth sports teams
  • Contribute annually to youth organizations
  • Provide free eye exams and/or purchase glasses for the needy
  • Used eyeglass collections for vision clinics in impoverished countries
  • Annually ring bells for the Salvation Army Christmas collection
  • Provide free ice cream socials for local senior living centers
