Recent Community Services 2011/2012
So, what has your local Lions Club been up to.
Well, in the last 8 months we have.....
- Collected over 1500 pair of used glasses
- Donated $6000 locally and in Georgia for vision service needs.
- Funded exams/glasses for 40 local children
- Donated 1000 trees to plant locally
- Sponsored visually impaired students trip to space camp
- Served over 600 people total through funds or time volunteered

LIONS CLUB GIVES GIFT CARDS TO LOCAL STORM VICTIMS
THE ROME LIONS CLUB TEAMED UP WITH LIONS FROM JASPER AND WOODSTOCK TO PRESENT $25 GIFT CARDS TO LOCAL TORNADO VICTIMS. THE GIFT CARDS WERE PART OFA PRELIMINARY $100,000 GRANT FROM LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION TO STORM RAVAGED VICTIMS IN MISSISSIPPI, LOUISANA, ALABAMA AND GEORGIA. ADDITIONAL GRANTS ARE POSSIBLE FOR THESE AREAS IN THE FUTURE BASED ON NEED. LIONS ALL OVER THE WORLD COME TOGETHER THROUGH THE LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (LCIF) TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. EMERGENCY RELIEF WAS RECENTLY AFFORDED TO THE PEOPLE OF JAPAN FOLLOWING THE RECENT TSUNAMI AND EARTHQUAKE.
