On and early Saturday morning at Rome Memorial Hospital, the Rome Lion's Club was available to provide vision screenings for interested people. We were able to identify a few people who need follow-up on their vision with an eyecare professional, so we consider this a successful outing.

September 27, 2016 - Gift to District Governor Linda Mott's Special Project

Rome Lions Club President Victor Fariello presents a $400 donation to District Governor Linda Mott, to go towards her special project at the Golisano Children's Hospital in the new Pediatric Emergency Room. We are pleased as a club to be able to help contribute to the worthy cause of this new endeavor by the children's hospital. About 27,000 children from age 1 to 18 are seen at the emergency room from many surrounding counties.

May 16, 2016 Past District Governors 2016 - 20/Y1 Leadership Award
Lion Dale Rashford (center) of the #RomeLionsClub was presented with the Past District Governors 2016 - 20/Y1 Leadership Award at the NYS & Bermuda Lions MD 20 Convention this past weekend in Buffalo, NY. Congratulations Lion Dale! #WeServe — with PDG's Joe Defina and Kermit Mott.
May 05, 2016 Team Chad
Chad DeFina, son of Joe & Trish Defina unexpectedly passed away a little over a year ago from what turned out to be a heart attack. Wanting to do something to help, the Club took on the project of walking in the American Heart Association Walk. Not only did we get a large turnout, but the Club won an award from the AHA for raising the largest amount of monies for an organization! The Club was able to raise $7,000 towards the cause. This was a great way to honor the memory of their son Chad DeFina!

Our very own PDG Joe DeFina was presented the District 20-Y1 2015-2016 District Governor-Elect William “Bill” Winans Jr Memorial Award for leadership at District Governor Brent Rueffer's Fall Conference Cabinet meeting recently.

This week at Jervis Public Library, two maple trees will be planted with funds from the Rome #Lionsclub annual donation to the Library. The Rome Lions look to continue their support in the future as well!
