September 2017 Calendar Raffle Fundraiser

$10 per Ticket or $25 for 3 Tickets

Proceeds will be donated to Lions District 33N Eye Mobile and Family Promise, North Shore Boston.

We'll be selling them at the Salem Lions Booth at the Salem Heritage Days Fair on August 12th and 13th (booth place TBA). You can also email salem.ma.lions@gmail.com or any Salem Lion member to get tickets.







2017 Massachusetts Lions Youth Speech Competition

The Salem Lions are sponsoring Janae Beaver a student from Salem Academy Charter School in the 2017 Massachusetts Lions Youth Speech Competition. The 2017 topic is "Political Correctness Has It Gone Too Far". Janae was one of 5 participants in the Salem Competition held on December 5, 2016. 

Janae competed with 3 others at the District level on Feb 4, 2017, at the Mid-Winter Lions Convention and WON! 

She will be competing at the State and final level at the Massachusetts Lions State Convention in Falmouth MA on May 6, 2017.

November Calendar Raffle Fundraiser

November 1st through 30th, 2016: Calendar Raffle fundraiser. 

All proceeds will benefit the Mass Lions Eye Research Fund and the Salem Council on Aging. MLERF support innovated research on blindness and eye related diseases and Salem COA can use the funds to purchase much needed equipment that is not in the budget for outfitting their planned new facility.

Our goal is to sell 300 tickets. That will result in each ticket having a 1 in 10 chance of winning a prize of at least $25!

The Council on Aging Director, Meredith McDonald, and the Executive Director of the Salem Community Center, Tricia O'Brien, drew the winning tickets for our raffle on November 1st. Also here are two long-time Salem Lions Club members!

The Salem Lions had a dinner meeting on Sept 19, 2016.

Guest Speaker Andy LaPointe demonstrated the BeSpecular App and discussed how the Lions participation can help “VIP”s around the world.

BeSpecular is an iOS and Android app that connects you to sighted volunteers around the world.
