WHO ARE THE SALINE AREA LIONS?

We have proudly served the Saline Michigan community for almost 40 years!

Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That's because we help where help is needed.  In short, We Serve.

NEW Saline Area Lions Club is now on FACEBOOK- Check us out and sign up as a friend by going to www.facebook.com and looking for Saline Lions.  This is a great way to stay in touch and check in with each other.

COMMUNITY PROJECT Saline Area Lions Club now offering Free Vision Screening - The Saline Area Lions have just completed training for Project Kidsight. This is a Free Vision Screening for Pre-Kindergarten children in collaboration with Detroit Medical Center to identify vision abnormalities such as cataracts and amblyopia. Look for locations where the Saline Lions Club will be offering this screening in the Saline Area.

Saline Area Club Scholarships Awarded -In May each year at the Saline High School Senior Awards Night in the Ellen Ewing Performing Arts Center, the Saline Area Lions awards their annual Scholarships to two deserving High School Seniors. From over 50 applications the Club's Scholarship Committee selected 2 Saline High School Seniors this year. Both of the recipients have excellent academic and community service qualifications and they both intend to contribute to the healthcare field in one way of another. The process used by the Saline Lions Club is to select the best candidates including college study major, academic performance, financial need, and above all community service.

Here are some of the things our club has done recently:

  • Sold Ice Cream at Community events to raise funds for local projects
  • Purchased hearing aids and eye exams as well as glasses for local people in need
  • Awarded Annual Scholarships to deserving High School Seniors in the Community
  • Screened over 500 pre-K children for vision problems via Project Kidsight
