The Vision Screening results are in for 2017!! Last year we screened  7,944 people ages 6 months to senior citizens, increasing our 2016 screenings four fold to 7,944. Of those we referred 867 for  further professional examinations. 90% of those screened were school age kids. We established a relationship with the ESD112 school district, which more narrowly focused our attention on preschool and K-12 kids. We have already set screening schedules for the 2018-19 school year and are seeking funds to purchase a third screening camera. If you can help, please tap the DONATE button on this page.

The Salmon Creek Lions Club has long been a committed financial supporter of and an active participant in the work of the Lions Sight Foundation of Clark County, the Lions Hearing and Speach Conservation Committee of Clark County. Salmon Creek Lions helps facilitate the collection and re-use of thousands of used eyeglasses each year.

Our mission:
To serve the humanitarian needs of our local and worldwide communities through voluntary service.

Priorities of the Salmon Creek Lions Club and Foundation are to assist persons who are blind or visually-impaired, as well as those challenged by hearing loss. Locally, our efforts primarily have been directed to funding the Lions’ Foundations for Sight and for Hearing which, in turn, subsidize examinations, eye glasses, hearing aids and surgical procedures.

In 2015 we began an outreach program to test people of all ages for vision difficulties. Our screening program uses portable state of the art test equipment that is able to measure the need for further testing by trained professionals. When a person requires further examination, but does not have insurance coverage, we provide an application form to enable them to seek financial aid from the Lions Sight Foundation of Clark County.

Current Organizational Needs: We have purchased and are using Vision Screening equipment to screen children and adults to determine the need for further professional examination. We seek funding to replenish our Foundation's account to continue contributions to other organizations, and to  purchase at least one one additional vision-screening unit, with necessary accessories. The approximate replenishment and additional investment is $14,000..

Our affiliate, Salmon Creek Lions Foundation, is a 501(c)3 organization. Please help us serve others with your tax deductible contribution.
