Meetings

The Sandestin Lions Club has 6 operations that are affected by local contributions generated from the fund raisers listed below:

1.  Raise money for the Entities in Florida that we support through annual donations.  All of these organizations contribute to helping or training those with eye or hearing disabilities.

2.  Purchase of eye exams and glasses for those withon our community who cannot afford them.  If you are local and think you may qualify, please call or e-mail (data on Contact or Officer Page).  We can also assist with surgeries to correct disabilities in eye sight or hearing and hearing aids through multiple Lions Foundations in Florida.

3.  Collection of eye glasses, cell phones, hearing aids and printer cartridges for refurbishment and reuse.

4.  Awarding of local scholarships (discussed on the Scholarship Page of this website).

5.  Participation by local middle schoolers in the International Lions Club, International Peace Poster Contest.  This is an annual art/poster contest held world-wide.  The winner receives a cash prize and a trip to the Lions International Convention.

6.  Identification and funding for projects of local interest.  These projects may be school related, directed towards other organizations that assist those within our community that need assistance, or be something with public appeal.
