           50 years of Service

          Chartered May 7, 1960

SBL's celebrated 50 years of service to the community on May 22, 2010, at The Enigma Cafe in Satellite Beach. The night was filled with good friends, food, celebration, and pictorial account of SBLC activities. Lion Jeff Pearson presided as Master of Ceremonies.                                                                   

PDG Bob Moser, the lone original charter member, provided information of the beginning of SBLC with regards to initial members, activities, and antics played upon others. After telling his beginnings of the SBL's, Lion Bob was awarded "Monarch Lion 50th Anniversary Charter Member Award" by King Lion Frank Armitage.
  

PDG Anne Greer presented the following awards to SBL members:    "Certificate of Achievement as a Certified Guiding Lion" to Lions Joe Hauser and Ed Farnsworth.  "DG Certificate of Appreciation" to Lion Joe Hauser. Appreciation for going "The Extra Mile" to Lions Curt Black and Alan Boleware. "International President's Certification of Appreciation" to Lion Bob Moser.                                                          

Guest Speaker, former Lion PDG Jack Ackerman, discussed his involvement in SBL. The club is honored to have members of PDG Jack's family active within the SBL: Lions Gini & Jonathon Black.           

1st VDG Lion Dudley Bent was keynote speaker, providing information about Lionism in  Bahamas and his activities with the Freeport Lions Club.   

The night was a true celebration of 50 years of Lionism.
