Club Projects

  • Community Health Fair: Each year we help with the community health fair by scheduling blood draws before and general help during.
     
  • Used Eyeglasses Recycling: Sterling is the recycling center for Colorado. By working with Eastern Colorado Services for the Developmentally Disabled and the Sterling Correctional Facility we clean, read and sort approximately 2000 pair of glasses each week. We are always looking for organizations to take glasses on mission trips.  Used Eyeglasses Order Form
     
  • Cowboy Breakfast: The Wednesday of Fair Week is we host a community breakfast to recognize the fair board, royalty, the parade marshal and some pioneers (long-time Logan County residents).
     
  • Easter Candy Hunt: The Saturday before Easter we provide an Easter candy hunt for children from pre-school through 4th grade.
     
  • Kid Sight Photo Screening: We do vision screening for local daycares to check for unnoticed vision problems.
     
  • Middle School and GED Students of the Month: Each month from October through May we recognize six middle school students (a boy and a girl from each grade) and one GED student from Northeastern Junior College. The students are chosen by their teachers as showing initiative and good behavior.
     
  • Pancake Night for Sight: This is an annual event to raise money for our sight programs locally and internationally.
     
  • Eyeglasses for Children: We pay for eye exams and glasses for needy students in the local school district.
     
  • Highway Clean-up: We pick-up trash along a three mile stretch of highway coming into Sterling.
     
  • Friendly Dog Tail Wagging Contest: During the Fair we award the most tail wagginest dog in the county.
     
  • Scholarships: We provide two scholarships to local students to attend the local junior college.
