Meetings

The St. Paul Downtown Lions started its Cubs club program as a new service project of its club as a way for members with children and grandchildren to participate in Lions as a family. The club also saw the project as a potential way to recruit and engage new members. The program will focus on service to the community, help build leadership activities for the youth and will help foster lifelong involvement in LCIF.   The Cubs club pilot plans to conduct a meeting once a month and the meetings will alternate between planning meetings and service projects. All service projects will be planned by the youth.

The St. Paul Downtown Lion's Cub Club held a very successful first ever Cub’s Service project on February 16, 2014.  More than 20 Lions, including  youth cub members ranging in age 6 to 16,  and members of the St. Paul Downtown Lions Club gathered downtown St. Paul to assemble more than 100 hygiene kits for Guild Incorporated.  Several local clubs supported the project by providing donations of supply and contributions toward purchasing kit components like shampoo, soap, combs, and toothbrushes. The kits were assembled at the administrative offices of Guild Incorporated, a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help people with mental illness lead quality lives by providing integrated treatment and services.

The Cubs club launched as pilot on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 20, 2014 with 12 enthusiastic dynamite kids along with their parents.
