1. Project Ekhaya - Educare centre for 60 underprivilidged children
Another community service project by the Table View Lions in building and setting up Ekhaya Kidz Educare Center in the informal settlement of Dunoon in Cape Town. A learning centre for about 60 underprivileged children.
Lion Gisela Weitz facilitated this project in building a much needed care and early learning center for about 60 children, consisting of 2 classrooms, kitchen, toilets and included providing the essentials for these children like chairs, tables, mattresses, learning material, furniture etc.
Furthermore, one of the objectives of the project was to ensure it was of the standard and quality that would qualify for registration with the Dept. of Social Development in order to become a self-funding NGO. This too was achieved.
This video shows the process, progress and gives credit to the donors and everyone involved in bringing smiles to these underprivileged children, and the uplifting a section of this informal community of Dunoon.
