Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesday, 7pm at the building at The Plains Community Park, The Plains, Ohio. 

WHEN FACTS MATTER

 

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.  LCIF was also ranked the number one non-governmental organization in a 2007 study by The Financial Times.

 

Who are the Lions of District OH7? District OH7 is made up of approximately 1,500 men & women in 55 Lions Clubs and two Lioness Clubs throughout 17 counties in southeast Ohio. These counties are Athens, Coshocton, Fairfield, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Vinton & Washington.

 

We serve together as The Plains Lions Club and benefit our community in Athens County area called The Plains, Ohio as well as surrounding communities.  Our club was founded March 1983.  In 2023, our club will be celebrating our 40th Charter Anniversary. Our current membership is 27 and our goal is to maintain a roster of 40 members by our Charter Anniversary.  Growth is essential to help those in need.

 

Activities include:

 

  • Club Project:  Indian Mound Festival
  • Club Project:  Cruise-Ins & Car Shows
  • Club Project:  Provide food items to a local food pantry
  • Club Project:  Assist Athens Twp Trustees administer park reservations and facility
  • Club Project:  Tree Lighting Event & Santa Claus
  • Club Project:  Collect eyeglasses for third World Countries.
  • Club Project:  Maintain flags for The Plains area; work with local VFW
  • Club Project:  Provide music for benefits.
  • Club Project:  Chinese Auction
  • Zone 7 Project:  Vision Screenings
  • Zone 7 Project:  Collected over 14,000 #’s of plastic and earned a bench for our park
  • Zone 7 Project:  Assist Athens & Alexander, at their Athens County fairbooths

 

When there is a need, there is a Lion!  We welcome you to The Plains Lions Club. Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays and as needed for planning activities.
