 Projects and Activities

As Lions, we take SERVICE seriously. We also share fun, fellowship and networking opportunities with each other on a club, local, state, national and international level.

We donate our time serving others as follows.

  • Colfax Elementary School in Studio City - Quarterly we honor a special student. Additionally, we support the school by attending PTA meetings, tutoring students, helping with fundraising, assisting in yard cleanup and by helping with other projects as needed
  • Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aides for local and worldwide distribution
  • Foothill Center for the Blind - serve lunches
  • MEND ((Meet Each Need with Dignity) in Pocoima - teach ESL classes
  • Muscular Distrophy Association - participate in the Jerry Lewis telethon and other fundraising efforts on a local basis
  • Peace Poster Contest for middle school students - support the arts in school by holding contests on the club level
  • Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles - collect pop-top tabs for their fundraising efforts and occasionally prepare meals
  • Student Speaker Contest for high school students - hold a club contest each year
  • White Cane - once a year we staff a booth at a local store to raise money for this international effort and to help increase awareness of the use of the white cane and laws governing its use

We could do so much more if we had more members. Please consider joining us!
