Penny Hunt

The Penny Hunt is the oldest Town of Hoosick   Lions event, dating back to 1961, and being held every year for the last 50 years.  The   weather usually cooperates and this year was no exception.  Sunny skies really brought out the kids.  The Easter Bunny always shows up at   this event and is loved by all.

Each year, the club tries to get shiny new pennies for the children to find.  It looked like we would not be able to get them this year, but at the last minute, enough were found to carry on that tradition. $125 in pennies were tossed on the grass to be found by children as young as 3 up to age 9.  One penny in each age group was marked.  Whoever found that penny won an Easter Basket.  For those 10 and up, there was an egg toss.  Messy, but everyone had a great time.

Lion Doug Harrison has chaired this event for several years and does a great job.  Lion Rich Allen was the event MC.  We had a good turnout of Lions to help set up and make sure everything ran smoothly.
