ADOPTION OF SCHOOL  

The Club has adopted the Government Lower Primary School Pangode to conduct some of its Service Projects .

August 15th the country's Independence Day was celebrated along with parents staff and Alumni.

A Magic Show was organised and sweets and biscuits distributed to one and all. 

On September 26th, cleaning the premises campaign also known as Swach Bharath Abhiyaan saw a large number of Lions participating enthusiastically. A ground was cleared and 20 fruit bearing saplings planted along the perimeter.

Classrooms were also swept and dusted.Students participated with gusto and rewarded with candies.

They were also given tips on adopting envronment friendly habits, like proper waste disposal, avoiding the use of plastics and gardening tips.Vegetable seeds to be planted and nurtured at home was distributed.

GREEN PROTOCOL

The Nursery Section of the LP School, PANGODE, were given 30 Steel Plates and 30 Steel Glasses for having their mid day meal. This was to replace the Plastic plates and glasses. They were also given five double mats for the little children to rest during the break.

MR CAMPAIGN

The Region- 1. MR vaccination inaugural ceremony was attended by 800 students. Keynote address by DGP Smt Sreelekha, IPS. 15 Lns  attended. Students were made aware of the benefits of the vaccination and their fears allayed.Avan carrying the msg was flagged off by PID L Murugan.The club attended the vaccination camp at Christnagar School, Kowdiar on 13/10/2017.

SEMINAR ON DRUG ABUSE

A Drug Awareness Seminar was helmed by Mr.Abraham George a psychologist and mind trainer. 65 students from 10th and 11th classes attended the interactive session which was made more interesting by conducting activities like role-play,withthe enthusiastic participation of students. 

PEACE POSTER CONTEST

30 students of RKD School participated in the contrest held at the school.12 selected students took part in the District level contest held at Bal Bhavan on 12th November.

READING ACTION PROGRAM

10 issues of the Hindu Student edition Newspaper was sponsored by the Club in the Little Flower School Vellayani, for this academic session.The Principal wasrequested to let the students take turns to carry the paper home.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

A seminar on soft skills ,leadership and exam stress management was conducted to hone the skills of students at The Little Flower School.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

In association with the Army a blood donation Camp was organised. 62 cadets of the National Cadet Corps participated. 51 units of blood was collected.This wasalso to mark Army Day which is solemnised on January 15th.

SELF DEFENSE

A workshop on Self defense for girls was held at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Pangode on 3rd February. Two lady Police officials conducted the session which included interactive discussions and practical training on defensive manouvres.The Principal appreciated the involvement of LIONS in this much needed service activity.

  Eye Screening for Tiny Tots

An eye screening camp using Refractometer was conducte at two Anganwadisin Rajaji nagar. 32 students were screened and followup measures recommended for 3. Steel plates and glasses along with sweets were distributed to the students as part of the green protocol initiative of the Club.

Helping the Differently Abled

Two wheelchairs were donated to two deserving persons during the Region Conference on April 13th. This was part of the Level 2 legacy project.

Helping the Disadvantaged

Adult diapers and new dresses for the patients of the No.9 ward of the General Hospital Trivandrum were handed over to the RMO and Warden. Club members also contributed  fruits and biscuits to the patients . The No, 9 ward houses destitutes.

Rolling Trophy

A Rolling Trophy was handed over to the Government LP School Pangode, to be awarded to the Best Out Going Student every year. This was part of the  Level 1 Legacy project of the Club.
