10.07.2015 - Installation Ceremony
The Installation of new office bearers of our club for the year 2015-2016 was held on 10.07.2015. The installing officer was Past District Governor Ln. Jayakar Shetty Indrali, mjf. The other guests were Regional Chairperson Ln. Santhosh Shetty, mjf. The Zone Chairperson Ln. Shalini D Bangera, Ln. George Samuel, Ln. V G Shetty, Ln. Dinesh Bangera. Around 250 Lions members have attended the function. The scholarship was distributed to the financially poor, meritorious student Ms. Rakshitha who is studying in 8th standard at Jilla Panchayath Kannada Madhyama Shaale, Lakshminagara, Kodavoor. The scholarship is sponsored by our Past President Ln. Shivaprasad Shetty and also to the another student Ms. Akshatha who is studying in II year B.Com at Ajjarkadu Government Girls College, Udupi. The scholarship is sponsored by our member Ln. Naveenchandra Shetty. We donated the notes books of Rs. 10000/- to the students of soumyuktha High school, Rajeeva Nagara, Manipal. The Head master of the school accepted the cheque from our President Ln. Rajesh Hegde. Immediate Past President had welcomed the guests and gathering. Immediate Past secretary read out the reports for the year 2014-2015. The secretary Ln. Rajesh Sherigar proposed vote of thanks. The function was concluded with fellowship and dinner.
01.08.2015 - Regular/BOD Meeting, Family gettogether
The Regular meeting and the BOD meeting held on 01.08.2015 followed by Family gettogether at Hotel Gangothri Udupi. We appointed Ln. Rathnakar Shetty as a club chairperson for district programme, Ln. Shivaprasad Shetty as a club chairperson for centenary programme, Ln. Nandkumar as GLT co-ordinator, Ln. Sajal Shetty as LIONS QUEST committee chairperson in the BOD meeting held on 01.08.2015
15.08.2015 - Independance Day celebration
We have celebrated Independance day at Hirebettu aided primary school, Hirebettu. Our President Ln. Rajesh Hegde hoisted the flag. After the flag hoisting, we donated 6 computer tables to the computer lab of the school. The Regional chairperson Ln. Sathish Shetty inaugurated the same. Followed with this program, we donated school uniforms to 82 students of the school. Taluk Panchayat president Mrs. Pramila Shettigar, Taluk panchyath member Gurudas bhandary, School orgnising committee chairman Shivaprasad shetty were other guests. Ln. Rajesh Hegde welcomed the guests and gathering. Regional Chairperson Ln. Sathish Shetty wished Lions club of udupi chethana for their community service. Head Mistress thanked the whole team of Lions club of Udupi Chethana. Asst Teacher Surekha proposed vote of thanks.
26.08.2015 - Mother Theresa Day
We observed Mother Theresa Day with inmates of orphanage run by C S I Boys boarding home ( B E M orphanage) at mission compound, Udupi. We distributed the fruits to the inmates. The students have entertained us with the songs and music. Zonal chairperson Ln. Shalini D Bangera was present in the function.
16.08.2015 - Kesarugadde Kreeda Koota
As a part of District programme BHARATH, the harmony through celebration and community service, to promote the cultural and rural sports, we donated Rs. 10000/- towards the Kesarugadde Kreeda koota held at Athradi which is organized by Ganeshothsava Samithi Athradi. Our President Ln. Rajesh Hegde inaugurated the Kesarugadde Kreeda koota and also our members actively participated in the various games and sports.
22.08.2015 - Protecting the environment
The PSTs, Ln. Rajesh Hegde, Ln. Rajesh V Sherigar, Ln. Jagadish Acharya have actively participated at the Protecting our environment drive organized by district on 22.08.2015 at lions Bhavana Brahmagiri. On this occasion, District Governor Ln. Shreedhar Shenava distributed plants to us.
