UPPER ST. CLAIR LIONS CLUB

The USC Lions Club was founded over 50 years ago to support community needs by providing funds and services to our local community.  We meet once per month to plan events and fundraising activities, strategize and socialize .

PRIMARY FOCUS:

  • Community service

  • Donations to agencies serving people with blindness/vision impairments and to agencies serving other community needs.

  • We donate approximately $8000 per year with 20 members.

  • We want to grow our membership to increase services and improve fund raising.

                                HOW WE RAISE/HAVE RAISED FUNDS:

  • We sell and deliver high quality vinyl trash bags.

  • We sell a variety of products manufactured by the vision impaired.

  • Fund raising campaigns - Farmers Markets, food events, art auctions, sale of compostable paper leaf bags for USC Township

            WE ARE/WERE ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • Providing large print and audio media for the USC Library

  • Planting outings for the USC Citizens for Land Stewardship

  • Community Day

  • Blind Bowlers Tournament

  • Salvation Army Angels Program

                         WE SUPPORT AND CONTRIBUTE TO:

  • Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh

  • Leader Dogs for the Blind

  • Western PA School for Blind Children

  • Western PA Hearing Foundation

  • PA Lions Sight Conservation and Eye Research

  • South Hills Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry

  • Meals on Wheels

  • USC Public Library

  • Provide eyeglasses to area citizens
